Fairfax County Budget Action at Bethlehem Baptist Church – March 2009

VOICE organized and won $25,000 annually from Fairfax County to expand low-income adult dental services at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic and to preserve housing funding at 2009 levels in the FY 2010 budget. VOICE filled St John Neuman Catholic Church with a broad-based constituency asking Fairfax County Supervisors Chairman Bulova and Senator Howell to work with them to get an understaffed dental clinic for low-income adults a full-time dentist. Funding a Full-Time Dentist for Low Income Adults in Western Fairfax County - 2012

The western Fairfax County branch of the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic was in operation over a year after its opening but understaffed. VOICE Launches Route 1/Mount Vernon Youth Campaign - June 11th 2012

Building a Constituency for Comprehensive Immigration Reform in NoVA - 2010

Virginia is consistently a swing state and plays a critical role at the national level.  In 2010, with the rise of efforts to press for federal comprehensive immigration reform, VOICE knew it would be essential to ensure that Northern Virginia had a well-organized multi-racial constituency to support just and realistic comprehensive immigration reform. Challenging the Backlog of Immigration Applications in NoVA - 2009

Improvements for Youth in Murraygate Village - 2011

Funding a New Dentist for Low Income Adults - 2009

Many VOICE congregations have food, shelter and other emergency services for the homeless and very low income.  One chronic problem they saw was poor dental care among their guests.  Poor dental care would cause people great pain, disruptions from work, and lead to other health problems.  Churches would often pick up the tab to get people help.  Read more about Funding a New Dentist for Low Income Adults - 2009
